![]() Most smartwatches let you do this directly from the device itself in an instant, but the Versa offers no such feature. We normally change smartwatch faces on a weekly, if not daily basis, thanks to our fickle desire to keep things feeling fresh. Take changing the watch face for example. What lets the Versa 2 down, however, are those occasions where you want to configure it or make changes. It’s zippy, nimble, and smoother than a greasy marble, which is a noticeable improvement over the original Versa, which was let down at times by laggy performance when navigating menus and opening apps. We haven’t got a single complaint about the performance of the Versa 2 itself. Performance and usability: Blazing fast, but watch out for speed bumps ![]() Beyond the blacks, brightness and punchy colours, the OLED screen also introduces a new feature in the form of an always-on display option, which permanently displays the time in a variety of battery-sipping black and white clock faces, negating the need for you to move your wrist to auto-wake the display.įitbit reckons that opting for the always-on display will reduce battery life by around a day, and beyond testing it out for a little while, we chose not to use it, as we love to squeeze out every drop of power we can (not to mention that the Versa 2 does a solid job of automatically firing up the screen when you flick your wrist up to check the time). You’re not going to have trouble seeing anything on this screen. It maxes out at 1,000 nits, which, for the non-nit-pickers out there, is a little under the max brightness of the swanky new iPhone 11 Pro‘s display. The screen also does a great job outside, even at medium brightness, which was more than bright enough for us. It’s sharp, and the colours are punchy and vibrant, while the truly black pixels mean that the rather large and unsightly bezels surrounding the screen are nigh-on invisible – assuming you use a watch face with a black background, that is. It’s no surprise then, that the Versa 2’s 1.4in 300 x 300 resolution OLED display is a considerable improvement over the original model’s LCD affair. ![]() Once you’ve used a display where black pixels are completely turned off, you’ll never want to go back. ![]() Often people will ask whether they should get a FDM printer or resin printer, in my view you should aim for both, starting with a cheaper FDM printer. It’s cheaper, safer, cleaner and in my view easier for the uninitiated, there is also a lot of information out there to get people started. ![]() Most people will start with FDM printing, and I’d definitely recommend starting that way. The post will assume that you have the same or a similar printer, and some software will be specific to the Photon (which is currently the most popular entry level resin printer) though generally the concepts will apply to other similar printers. This post will cover what I’ve learned through failed and successful prints, while trying to achieve the holy grail of prints that work every time (60% of the time). I’ve recently taken the plunge into 3D printing with DLP resin using an Anycubic Photon. This is through trial and error, and spending way too much time on Facebook groups, reddit and every blog I can read. ![]() I’m terrible at printing, I can’t level a bed to save myself, I need a raft whenever I print in FDM, yet I still manage to get decent prints. As the title suggests, the game draws heavily from both plot and aesthetic elements of film noir - stylistic films from the 1940s and 1950s that shared similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex, and moral ambiguity, often shot in black-and-white with high-contrast lighting and dark shadows. Noire is set in a near-perfectly recreated 8 square miles of Los Angeles circa 1947. ![]() ![]() MagiReco Season 2 builds on a series that I already loved a lot and sures up a lot of the problems I had with it. I really hope this continues into the next season. A reduced episode count means more time to work on episodes and allows you to have good pacing. I think the decision to go with 8 episodes in this cour and split the story into one more season coming in Fall, was brilliant. As more clues are revealed about the wings of magius and their goals, the story begins to feel a lot more like OG Madoka. Speaking of ambiance, the season does feel considerably darker than the first. Those traditional high quality sequences and direction that we’ve come to know and love from the Monogatari series make a return and they really added to the overall ambiance of the show. In general, this season felt way more SHAFT-y. The transformations which are key to any Mahou Shojo series were great too. The fight scenes are some of the best I’ve ever seen from SHAFT. I don’t know if it was due to staff, budget, time or some combination of all, but this season looked amazing. SHAFT upped the production values for the show substantially since season 1. I loved that they were able to incorporate the cast of the original TV anime with game’s girls and their chemistry on screen was really nice. I think it worked very well and felt faithful to MagiReco the game, yet also fresh. and deviate, while keeping the overall direction of the story pretty similar. For this season, SHAFT decided to do their own thing ![]() ![]() It’s rare that games perfectly translate to anime adaptations, so it presented some issues with pacing at times. MagiReco season 1 heavily followed the game’s storyline, at times to the detriment of the anime. The second season has rectified all of those issues and deviated substantially from the game’s story, for the better in my opinion. While I enjoyed the show a lot, it was undeniably lacking in some areas. MagiReco was one of my favourite shows of 2020, so when I heard we were getting another season I was ecstatic. ![]() In present-day Salem, a serial killer known as the Bell Killer begins murdering seemingly unconnected victims.
